How to organize your Favorites ...logically, smart and clearly? (http://forum.maxthon.com/index.php?showtopic=71313)
The question is:
How to organize and segregate our favourites?
After very intensive web browsing (which is very funny and easy if we are using Maxthon af course ) you will have a lots of favorites in your Favorites Sidebar .
And That is my problem. It;s not like "I have 4 thousand favourites in my folder and i am totally lost in this". No! I've got about few hundreds of favorite sites in Fav Sidebar! It' not much! But it's enough for me to get muddled up ...... and it's very strenous to find exactly what I am looking for! Big mess, belive me!
I tried to categorize, to create some folders like "Astronomy", "Blogs", "Games Online", "Radio Online", "Music", "Learning", "Banking", "Funny", "Web 2.0" etc.
But this kind of organizing stuff is NOT WORKING.
The Internet has grown up, and now in Internet 2.0 when we can meet thousands of thousands webpages in all manner of ways, and some (a lot) of the websites are so different from each other, and so uncommon and eccentric (even if they touch the same problem's and subjects) that it's terribly hard to find a way to arrange them and set them in some logical order. Categorizing in "Open Catalogues" seems to be old-fasioned and so backwardness way to keep informations (and as we now, our present world is built mostly from informations) organised and well disposed!
As there have been introduced new way for categorizing like Tag Clouds, (and tagging generally), http://shirky.com/writings/ontology_overrated.html, metadatas, assigning to some categories upon strong connections with another, similar sites etc. I'm not conversant with this! That's why I am asking. How to make it logical! And how to introduce some new ways of organizing favorite sites to Maxthon and to Maxthon Favorites Manager! Help me please!
I would like to add one word more! As I;ve got problem with categorsing websites in my favorites folder, belive me or not, but I really DO NOT have this problem with software insalled in my computer! and with organising stuff in folders! For example. My Start Menu is splitted into pieces like this:
[-] Start
[-] All Programs
[+] Accessories
[+] Astronomy
[+] Flash
[-] Games
[+] Demos
[+] FPS
[+] TPP
[+] Sports
...etc.
[-] Internet
[-] Browsers
[+] 3B
[+] Avant Browser
[+] Flock
[+] Firefox
[+] Maxthon
[+] Opera
[+] E-mail
[+] FTP
[+] Messengers
[+] P2P
[+] RSS
[+] Streaming
[+] Wireless
[+] Music
[+] Tools
[+] Burning
[+] Video
[+] WWW
...etc.
And this kind of organizing works VERY Well when you want to keep clean your Star Menu and even Hard Drive , but is absolutelly worthless in Favourite Managing!
Please. Can someone of you help and advice me?
How you are storing your favorites and if there is any chance to change the "OLD IE 4.0 Way" of storing them!?
ANY advices are welcome!
BTW, dzisiaj słynny 03-03 :D Lubię tą datę ;]

Why not tag each bookmark with all relevant tags? Just like you do in Epiphany (http://www.gnome.org/projects/epiphany).
